How to find a good Ripe Pu're brick tea?
1) The tea brick should be even and straight, consistant thickness, moderate elasticity, the mold pattern is clear and the cords are neat and tightly knotted; the color is normal in dark brown or maroon.
2) Pu'er tea has a brownish-red appearance (commonly known as pig liver color), with fat, tender and tight knots (due to the use of large-leaf species as raw material). The grade of Pu'er loose tea is based on tenderness. The higher the tenderness, the higher the grade. To measure the tenderness, look at three points: there are many buds, the hair is visible, and the tenderness is high; the cords (the degree to which the leaves are tightly rolled) are tightly knotted, heavy and solid, and the tenderness is high; the tenderness is smooth and moist, and the tenderness is dry and tender. degree difference.
3) Soup color: The transparency and brightness of tea soup are an important basis for judging the quality of tea. Good ripe pu'er tea soup has a rich and bright red color and no impurities. Generally, when the tea soup is turbid and unclear and accompanied by impurity precipitation, the quality of the tea is low. Of course, it is normal for there to be some broken leaves and hair on the back of the leaves in the tea soup.
4) Aroma: The aroma of good tea is pure, without any foreign smell, and has a distinctive fragrance. Chenxiang (aging aroma) is a comprehensive aroma produced by new substances formed by various chemical components under the action of microorganisms and enzymes during the fermentation process of Pu'er tea.
5) Taste: The taste of Pu'er tea should be mellow, smooth and sweet. It means no astringent taste, and has a very comfortable taste. Sweetness means that the tea soup is thick but not irritating, and there is an obvious sweetness on the back of the tongue after the tea soup is ingested.
