Full-Chain Quality Control System for Exported Green Tea
Ningbo Fengyu Tea Co., Ltd.
Ningbo Fengyu Tea Co., Ltd. specializes in exporting Chunmee Green Tea, Gunpowder Green Tea, and Steamed Green Tea to North Africa, West Africa, Central Asia and other international tea markets. We strictly ensure the quality and food safety of exported green tea through a complete quality management system covering source plantation control, standardized production, multi-level testing, full traceability, and export-compliant logistics.
1. Source Plantation Control - Eliminate Pesticide Residues and Heavy Metal Risks at the Source
1.1 Customs Registered Exclusive Tea Gardens with Closed Raw Material Management
All supplying tea gardens are officially registered with our Customs for export tea plantation qualification. Each garden provides annual soil and irrigation water inspection reports. Industrial facilities and livestock breeding pollution sources are completely excluded from surrounding areas. Isolation belts are established to prevent cross-contamination caused by pesticide drift from adjacent farmland.
1.2 Unified Agricultural Material Management and Strict Pesticide Control
Full-time plant protection technicians manage all agricultural inputs. Only legally permitted low-toxic pesticides are used with complete procurement, distribution and spraying records. Pesticides banned by the EU, West African countries, Japan and other major markets are strictly prohibited. Strict pre-harvest safety intervals are fully implemented. Rain-soaked leaves and pest-damaged leaves are sorted separately, downgraded or rejected.
1.3 Graded Fresh Leaf Procurement to Secure Fundamental Quality
Fresh tea leaves are strictly graded according to tenderness, uniformity and cleanliness. Old leaves, yellow leaves, ground leaves, sediment and weeds are thoroughly removed. Fresh leaves harvested on rainy days are spread and air-dried in time to avoid internal fermentation, reddening and turbid tea liquor, ensuring intact tea appearance and clear tea infusion from the very beginning.
2. Standardized Sanitary Processing - Stable Technology & Strict Workshop Hygiene
2.1 Precise Parameter Control in Primary Processing
Fixation: Constant temperature processing eliminates burnt taste and grassy odor, maintaining the fresh and clean aroma characteristic of green tea.
Rolling & Drying: Sectional temperature and time control strictly keeps final tea moisture ≤7%, effectively preventing mildew and sour deterioration during long ocean transportation.
Primary Sifting: Tea dust, yellow flakes and old stalks are removed in advance to reduce refining loss and guarantee clean tea liquor.
2.2 Multi-stage Refining and Purification Process
Crude tea undergoes five professional purification procedures: Sieving → Winnowing → Electrostatic Impurity Removal → Manual Sorting → Metal Detection
Grading sieves separate tea strips by length and thickness to match international standard tea codes (such as 41022 eyebrow tea and various gunpowder tea specifications).
Winnowing removes light yellow flakes and fine powder to reduce ash content.
Electrostatic stalk removal combined with meticulous manual picking eliminates tea stalks and foreign substances.
24-hour online metal detectors ensure zero metal debris in finished products.
2.3 100,000-Class Clean Production Workshop to Avoid Secondary Pollution
Functional zoning: Raw material area, processing area, finished product area and packaging area are physically separated with independent personnel and logistics passages.
Staff hygiene management: All workers wear unified work clothes, caps and masks with daily disinfection procedures. No food or personal sundries are allowed in the production area.
Daily equipment sanitation: Fixation machines, rolling machines and conveyor belts are cleaned after each shift with regular deep maintenance to prevent oil stains and mildew contamination.
Standard warehouse management: Semi-finished and finished teas are stored off the floor and walls with constant humidity and temperature monitoring and ventilation records.
3. Three-Tier Testing System - Full Inspection to Meet Global Import Standards
3.1 In-line Workshop Self-Inspection (Batch Sampling)
Certified professional tea tasters conduct sensory evaluation every two hours on tea appearance, aroma, liquor color, taste and leaf condition. Rapid tests for moisture, ash content and powder rate are performed constantly. Any unqualified semi-finished products are reprocessed immediately.
3.2 Full Laboratory Testing for Every Batch
All finished batches undergo comprehensive physical, chemical and safety testing:
Quality indicators: Moisture, water extract, tea polyphenols, total ash, powder and broken tea rate.
Safety indicators: Heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium), sulfur dioxide, total bacterial count, coliform and mold.
Pesticide residue screening: Compliant with China GB2763 standard, EU EC 396/2005 regulation and West African market limits, covering frequently restricted pesticides such as imidacloprid, acetamiprid and bifenthrin.
3.3 Official Customs & Third-Party Authorized Pre-Shipment Inspection
Authorized third-party laboratories issue internationally recognized test reports before shipment:
EU destinations: Over 200 pesticide residue items tested.
North & West African destinations: Fully compliant with local quarantine standards of Algeria, Senegal, Libya and other countries.
Only qualified products apply for official sanitary certificates. Unqualified batches are strictly prohibited from customs declaration and export.
4. One-Batch-One-Code Full Traceability & Rapid Recall System
Each production batch is assigned a unique code linked completely to plantation plots, picking dates, production teams, test reports, packaging records, warehouse outbound data and shipping information.
Complete documentation is archived for no less than 2 years, including agricultural input records, fresh leaf purchase records, processing parameter logs, inspection certificates, release documents and customs declaration files.
In case of overseas quality inquiries, full reverse traceability can be conducted rapidly to locate the source and implement immediate rectification and recall procedures.
5. Food-Grade Sealed Packaging & Professional Shipping - Stable Quality for Long Ocean Transit
5.1 Multi-layer Food-Grade Moisture & Oxygen Barrier Packaging
Inner layer adopts GB4806 standard food-grade aluminum foil composite film to block moisture, oxygen, odor and light. Middle layer uses moisture-proof corrugated cartons, and outer layer is fully waterproof wrapped, preventing tea dampness, oxidation, flavor deterioration and liquor darkening during long-distance maritime transportation.
5.2 Market-Specific Compliant Packaging & Labeling
Export labels are pre-approved according to destination country regulations, with bilingual/trilingual labeling in Chinese, English and French/Portuguese covering product name, origin, batch number, shelf life and sanitary information to avoid customs detention risks.
5.3 Optimized Marine Transportation Protection
Tea containers are placed in cool and shaded areas of dry containers avoiding high-temperature zones. Customs one-time security seals are applied for full transit supervision to prevent unauthorized opening and contamination.
6. Authorized Qualifications & System Certification for Global Market Access
Official qualifications: SC food production license, customs export food enterprise registration, registered tea plantation certification and independent import & export rights.
Standardized management system: Strictly implement GB14881 food sanitation specifications and adopt HACCP system to control three core risks: pesticide residues, microorganisms and foreign contaminants.
Dynamic standard adaptation: Testing items are updated continuously according to the latest import regulations of different countries to avoid technical trade barriers and return risks.
7. Finished Product Release Control & Zero-Tolerance Quality Policy
We implement a one-vote veto system for unqualified products:
Any failure in sensory evaluation, physical & chemical indicators, pesticide residues or microbial standards results in prohibited release.
Unqualified goods are isolated and recorded strictly for reprocessing or domestic downgrade sales, never mixed into export batches.
Only fully qualified products signed by quality control supervisors are released for shipment with complete supporting documents for customs clearance.
